Zanereti is a tattoo artist by trade and works in blackwork, fine line, and etching style. Achieving a perfect balance of delicate, detailed, and bold is a priority. Heavily inspired by old world engravings, anatomical studies, schematics, Nouveau design and Golden Age Illustration. Zanereti takes a contemporary twist on the antiquated by combining themes and subjects to create an original piece. Exploring figure, history, emotion, invention and the macabre.
within the realm of fine art, Zanereti is captivated by selective representation and its western influences. They take heavy inspiration from advertising and media of the last century. Themes which are accentuated through the process of lithography and its creation of multiples. They touch on topics of industry, fashion, gender identity, sexualization, and mass production; using soft color palettes and vibrant native flora to convey the desert mystique that surrounds them. Each layer of color is hand drawn and printed on a combination of limestone block and aluminum plate in small editions.
Zanereti uses the medium of printmaking to emphasize the idea of mass production, as it was the first of its kind to introduce replication into art. They are fascinated with history, anatomy, process, and its effect on human psyche as it relates to print making. With lithography being their favorite technique, you will find most of the work scribed into a limestone block.
