Biography
My name is Sean O’Day (B. 1994) Phoenix, Arizona USA. I work under the artist name Zanereti. An alias I gave myself when I was a kid. I received my bachelors degree in fine art (Printmaking) from Arizona State University. Through printmaking (specifically lithography) I was able to discover my passion for art and process. After graduation I stumbled into tattooing as a new medium to explore.
-I work in blackwork, fine line, and etching style. Achieving a perfect balance of delicate, detailed, and bold is a priority. Heavily inspired by old world engravings, anatomical studies, schematics, Nouveau design and Poster art. Zanereti takes a contemporary twist on the antiquated by combining themes and subjects to create an original piece.
After a year undergoing a traditional tattoo apprenticeship, I saw what the industry needed, and took a leap to open my own tattoo studio. In the middle of 2022, I opened Too Soon. dedicating myself to both the artists and the clients. The tattoo world desperately needed a space that reflected fine art along with the process of art on skin.
After four years of tattooing, I have obtained great discipline in drawing. creating the artistic habits i’ve always wanted. I am so grateful to be able to work every day as an artist, meet new people, and have an inclusive environment that fosters other creatives. Too Soon grew from a private studio to four tattoo stations. Hosting four brilliant resident artists and a rotating station for guests from all over the world. My first apprentice has successfully opened her own private studio. I continue to look for ways to share knowledge of tattooing and fine art as much as I can.
It is more important than ever to share, create, and work together. It has come time again for me to seek knowledge outside of my self and my surroundings. I am looking to explore residencies, work collaboratively with new artists and mediums, become a student of workshops and courses, and find what inspirations lay beyond. So that I can become a better artist/ teacher/ and inspiration.
